Pet Agluba and Bobbit Agustin of the Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association (Sletba) have ruled the two Senior Masters divisions in the 44th Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC)-Boysen Philippine Open being held at the Sta. Lucia Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Agluba scored a total of 2295 to beat Sletba teammate Ted Victorino (2244) and Nilo Penado of Pasig Bowling Association (2229) to clinch the Senior Masters division 1 championship during the finals on Monday.
Agustin, on the other hand, won the Senior Masters Division 2 title last Saturday, posting 2070 to beat PBA’s Nelia Santos (2068) and Sletba’s Samuel Santos (2047).
The finals of the other divisions are scheduled this week, with the Youth Division to be played Monday night and the Ladies division set on Tuesday.
The Graded Masters finals will be held on Wednesday, while the Associate and Open Masters divisions will be staged on Thursday.
As of Sunday night, the Graded Masters field is paced by Jb Vargas of MBA (1344), Jessie Cremen of Sletba (1252), and Gospel Joseph Gahol of PTBA (1249).
Ramil Bonus of MTBA, meanwhile, leads the Associate Masters division with 1244, followed by Sletba’s Ver Nido (1211) and Marlon Rivera (1164).
The fight for the Open Masters title looks tight, with Ivan Malig of TBAM-Prima leading the pack with 1321, followed by Nicco Olaivar of PBA (1306), and Kenneth Chua of TBAM-Prima (1294). Frederick Ong of TBAM-Prima is seeded in this category as the defending champion.
