Foton is taking down giants left and right.
On Thursday, it put a dent to the mighty Petron to take a 1-0 lead in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix best-of-three Finals.
Just last week, the Tornadoes ousted Philippines Gold, a team ranked no. 1 in the Final Four.
It’s looking very much like a classic Cinderalla run for Foton.
“It’s worked out that way,” Lindsay Stalzer, the Tornadoes’ main man, said.
They may be the fourth seed but Stalzer and company said it has always been the title shot that they’ve aimed for and nothing less.
“This is what we’ve worked for all season long,” Stalzer said as she finished with 25 points.
Foton could not enter the Final Four in the previous season as it only finished at fifth seed and could not seem to cement their place as one of the elites.
Until the Tornadoes shocked Cignal and one-upped the defending champions Petron in the championship series.
“All of us, we’re really into it,” Stalzer said. “We really respect each other, we love each other on the court.”
