For the third straight year, Nicole Eijansantos ruled the Batang Pinoy girls’ triathlon finals.

The 14-year-old from the School of the Holy Spirit in Quezon City clocked 45 minutes and 19 seconds to beat Everly Macalalad of Muntinlupa City (46:23) and Una Janus Sibayan (46:34) in the 400-meter swim, 12km bike and 3km run event.

In the boys’ division, Brent Valelo of Caloocan City snagged the gold medal from defending two-time champion Yuan Chiongbian of Cebu City.

Valelo, 15, clocked 38:45 while John Caleb Barlin of Iloilo City placed second (38:58). Chiongbian, who won the 2013 and 2014 titles, finished third (39:25).

Kevin Eijansantos, Nicole’s brother, is also the coach of Valelo.
