Spike for Peace: Soriano hopes to give a ‘better fight’ after loss to Thais

They may have lost their opener, but the Philippines’ duo of Charo Soriano and Alexa Micek is not losing hope.

“I hope we can give a better fight,” Soriano said after getting blown out by Thailand, 21-12, 21-15.

The other Philippine team represented by Jane Diaz and Danika Gendeauli also dropped its opening game after a 21-13, 21-16 loss to Sweden.

“We’re facing really tough teams,” Soriano said.

It’s not going to get any easier for the Philippines with the rest of the field composed of Australia, Brazil, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, United States, and Indonesia.

“We hope to give them a better fight.”
