Franz Pumaren, one of the most celebrated coaches in college basketball, will be making his return at the UAAP sidelines after being named as the new head coach of the Adamson Falcons.
The Adamson management will make a formal announcement of Pumaren’s appointment on Friday in a press conference to be held inside the Falcons’ campus.
Pumaren, who won five UAAP titles with De La Salle University, will be taking over an Adamson roster, bannered by Jaydee Tungcab, Jerome Garcia, and Papi Sarr.
Pumaren, who coached La Salle from 1998 to 2009, will be Adamson’s third coach in as many years after Kenneth Duremdes and interim coach Mike Fermin.
Before making his return in collegiate basketball, Pumaren called the shots for the Air21 Express in the PBA.
Despite having a rebuilding team, Fermin steered the Falcons to a 3-11 record.
