Playing in his final UAAP game, Mac Belo gave whatever he has left of him on Wednesday.
Belo, the FEU forward, didn’t have a career game but he had the game of his life — finishing with 23 points, eight rebounds, a championship and a Finals MVP award.
“My mindset was to really give everything I have because there’s no tomorrow,” said Belo shortly after the Tamaraws’ 67-62 win over the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers in Game 3 of the UAAP Season 78 men’s basketball Finals.
Belo averaged 17.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1 block per game in the championship series.
The soft-spoken Tamaraw said he felt the pressure being in the finals and especially in a do-or-die Game 3, but he drew strength from each and everyone’s commitment to go all out.
“There’s pressure, but everyone was committed to making efforts.”
