Marikina, Pateros advance

MARIKINA Wangs and Pateros Austen Morris nailed close wins on Tuesday to gain semifinal berths in the Filsports Basketball Association (FBA) Second Conference held at Enderun Colleges gym in Taguig.

Marikina outgunned Malolos Mighty Bulsu, 130-123, with Francis Munsayac exploding for 24 points and nine rebounds.

Pateros Austen Morris, behind Jawhar Purdy’s 33-point performance, edged First Conference champion Quezon City UP, 84-82, to book the third Final Four slot.

In the other game, Pampanga Foton cruised past Manila NU MFT, 87-73, to take the top spot and book a semifinal clash with No. 4 Marikina at 5:30 p.m.

Second-seeded Manila NU MFT will take on Pateros.

The semifinals will be be held this Saturday.
