Cignal shot down Philippine Air Force, 25-17, 32-30, 25-23, in Game 3 to take the Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference championship Sunday at San Juan Arena.
Alexis Faytaren delivered the title-clinching kill for the HD Spikers, who rode on their Game 2 momentum.
“We just went through so much, what we did in Game 2 we just repeated it,” said Cignal coach Michael Cariño. “Then we put our hearts into it because we already have the technical aspect of the game.”
Cariño also commended his players effort on the defensive end.
“Number one factor is blocking, we had an extraordinary blocking game today.”
Edward Ybañez was named Finals MVP after leading the HD Spikers with 13 points while Lorenzo Capate and Edmar Bonono had 10 points apiece.
Rodolfo Labrador and Jeffry Malabanan had 12 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Air Spikers.
