Caida, Euro-Med gain PCBL Final 4
TOP seed Caida Tiles trounced Supremo Lex, 96-62, to make the semifinal round of the PCBL Founders Cup at JCSGO Gym on Saturday night.
In the other match, Euro-Med needed the late-game heroics of Mar Villahermosa to repulse Kama Motors in overtime, 85-78, and join Caida and early qualifier Jumbo Plastic in the next round.
Villahermosa’s triple in regulation sent the game to an extra five-minute period after Euro-Med squandered a 12-point fourth-quarter lead.
Euro-Med opened overtime with back-to-back triples from Alvin Abundo and Samboy de Leon for a six-point lead and never looked back.
“If not for Mar, we won’t be playing in the semifinal round,” said Euro-Med coach Yong Garcia. “We’re lucky to make the next round.”
