Filipinos were again treated to top quality tennis as the 2015 International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) returned to Manila on Sunday for the second leg of its tournament.

Serena Williams, the women’s world No.1, made her second visit in the Philippines, but the opening day of the three-day event marked her first time playing in front of the Filipino crowd while representing the home team’s Philippine Mavericks.

Williams powered the Mavericks to a 29-18 rout of the UAE Royals in the main match after Nick Kyrgios, Australia’s fast-rising star, led the Singapore Slammers to a 29-20 victory over the winless Japan Warriors in the curtain raiser.
