Hobbling after a fourth set bump, Valdez led the Ultra Fast Hitters with 22 points and she not only took home the gold medal, she also got a brand new Finals MVP trophy with her.

“It’s really random I got the MVP but I’M really grateful for it,” Valdez said. “I guess it’s done and all I can say is everyone has to learn from whatever decision they make so I’m happy.”

Valdez did not play in the eliminations after Ateneo advised her to rest after she competed in the UAAP Beach Volleybal Tournament.

“I’m so grateful I was given the opportunity to play for this championship.”
