Striegl ‘will fight whoever’ as he chases ONE FC title shot

From one Australian to another, Mark Striegl is not backing down from anyone.

Striegl (14-1) was initially set to face undefeated Australian Jordan Lucas (8-0) for the ONE Championship Spirit of Champions set Friday, but two weeks before the card, Reece McLaren (7-3) was placed in Lucas’ stead.

Nevertheless, Striegl will fight anyone as long it serves as a stepping-stone for a world title fight.

“My focus right now is on my next opponent, and if a title shot comes up of course I’ll take the opportunity but if I have to fight another person I’ll fight another,” the bantamweight said Tuesday in a media scrum in Makati. “I’ll fight whoever ONE Championship wants me to fight.”

Lucas, as per Fight News Australia, has been forced out of the fight due to a cut leaving XFC bantamweight champion McLaren to take the fight.

Striegl added he had to change his strategy a little after initially preparing for Lucas but what matters for him is how he reacts against McLaren.
