PBA: Rain or Shine pulls rug from under Alaska, ties for 2nd
Rain or Shine snapped Alaska’s four-game winning run and forced a tie for the second spot with a 111-105 come-from-behind victory over the Aces Friday in the 2016 Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Beau Belga led the all-out attack by the Elasto Painters with 17 points and eight rebounds, with six more players notching double digits.
Jericho Cruz and Raymond Almazan both had 13 markers, while Jeff Chan, JR Quinahan, and Don Trollano all got 12 points in the win. Gabe Norwood had 11, eight of which came in the fourth.
Clawing back from a 14-point hole in the third quarter, the Elasto Painters found their bearings late and turned their fortunes around, taking control of the game in the clutch.
Calvin Abueva gave Alaska a slim 98-96 midway in the fourth, before Rain or Shine closed the game with a 11-2 tear in the closing minute.
