ONE FC: Streigl taps out in 3rd round, bows to McLaren

Despite dominating all-fight long, Mark Streigl fell into Reece McLaren’s clutches in the third round and tapped out on a rear-naked choke in one of

the main billings of ONE FC: Spirit of Champions Friday night at Mall of Asia Arena.

It was a sorry defeat for the 27-year-old Filipino after his offensive outburst in the first two rounds. He him landed a huge kick in the face of McLaren in the first round and even nailed the Australian with a sharp elbow to the head in the second.

Sensing desperation, McLaren came alive in the third round, pounding an exhausted Streigl before taking the air out of him.

It was the third straight victory for the 24-year-old McLaren, who improved his MMA record to 8-3 as he continues to roll in the bantamweight division.

Streigl, meanwhile, fell to 14-2, becoming the second Filipino, next to Ana Julaton, to lose for the night.
