Ken Holmqvist may have been a bench warmer during the UAAP season but in the National Collegiate Championship, the 6-foot-8 stretch forward was front and center.
He finished with 17 points and 11 boards and even took home the Finals MVP trophy.
For Far Eastern University head coac Nash Racela the luxury of having a big man that can spread the floor is not only good for the Tamaraws but can also be of use to the Gilas program.

“Ken is a spread big, I think he would be of help to the Gilas program but he still needs experience,” Racela said.
For reference, the Gilas program has enjoyed the services of stretch fours like veteran Ranidel de Ocampo and lately Troy Rosario.
Holmqvist, who was still getting used to the pressure and the recorders, was surprised with his coach’s praise.
“I like his confidence in me,” Holmqvist said. “I like working with him and I would continue working with him.”
