Manny Pacquiao was a blizzard of a boxer as he reigned from featherweight to welterweight, but his teacher knows it’s Floyd Mayweather Jr. who’s the best of their era.

Freddie Roach told Boxing Scene’s Carlos Boogs how Pacquiao (56-6-2) excited the fans and mastered eight divisions but the edge goes to Mayweather (49-0) as he is the undefeated of the two.

“Manny had eight world titles and a lot of great opponents and so forth. Mayweather had the same, had a great career and [was] undefeated,” Roach told Boxing Scene. “So I guess we’re going to have to give it to Mayweather.”

Roach has  always been critical of Mayweather’s defensive style but the undefeated record of Money trumps the stained record of the Pacman whose last loss was against the American.

“Mayweather had no losses and so forth, he’s probably the king of this era.”
