Makati softbelles shut out Marikina
UNBEATEN Makati blanked Marikina, 12-0, and Manila clobbered Woodrose School, 11-5, yesterday in the 2015 National Inter-Secondary Girls Softball Championships in Marikina.
Makati thus stretched its win streak to seven on top of Bracket A at Barangka baseball field. Already assured of a semifinal spot, Makati shoots for a sweep of the eliminations today against defending champion San Mateo.
Over at Sto. Niño field, Manila leaned on a late charge to defuse Woodrose and raise its record to 7-1 in Bracket B to nail the second semifinal seat.
Over in Baguio, University of Mindanao-Davao nipped University of the Philippines, 1-0, for a 4-0 record in the 2015 Inter-Collegiate Championships.
In other results, Ateneo de Manila University demolished visiting Indonesian team Papua, 10-2, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines beat Rizal Technological Institute, 4-1.
