Tornadoes out to surpass 2015 feats

PHILIPPINE Superliga Grand Prix champion team Foton is already looking forward to the 2016 season and its participation in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Club Championship in Manila in September.

Team manager Alvin Lu said the Tornadoes are bent on achieving more championships next year.

“Playing in the AVC  is  not  just  about Foton as  we  will  carry  the country’s name in  the  competition,” said Lu.

Lu said he has requested other teams to lend their players for the AVC meet, where the Philippines, represented by Petron, finished eighth in Vietnam last September.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat is on top of Lu’s list but the 6-foot-1 ace is reportedly pregnant.

The team will also conduct invitational tryouts early  next year to beef up its campaign.
