PBA legend Lim Eng Beng passes away

Philippine basketball lost one of its legends as Lim Eng Beng passed away on Monday morning after a long bout with liver cancer. He was 64.

Beng, a member of the PBA Hall of Fame, is regarded as one of the best scorers in league history.

He is also one of the greatest players that came out of De La Salle University and holds an NCAA record for most points scored in a single game with 55.

His death ignited an outpouring of support with former and current players expressing their appreciation for Beng’s contributions to the game through social media.

“RIP to the ultimate King Archer Lim Eng Beng. It was an honor idol,” former pro and Green Archer Don Allado posted on his Twitter account.

“RIP Lim Eng Beng. Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us.. My condolences to the family..,” La Salle star Jeron Teng tweeted.

Beng is part of the original 25 and recently the 40 Greatest Players in PBA history. He was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2013.
