Gordon lauds Ravena, Valdez: ‘These are the kids we need’

From one volunteer to two more, senatorial bet Richard “Dick” Gordon had high praise for Kiefer Ravena and Alyssa Valdez.

Ravena and Valdez organized FASTBR3AK, a charity volleyball event for the victims of Typhoon “Nona” which devastated parts of Luzon two weeks ago.

The event raised P500,000 which will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross.

“What they’re doing is what I’m talking about, lead by example, be a man of character and not just a popular guy,” Gordon, who is the Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, said Friday. “There are so many popular guys who are very bad examples.”

Ravena said that even though he and Alyssa are still considered kids, they can still do philanthropic things as athletes looked upon by many.

“This goes to show that kids can organize events that can help,” Ravena said. “Not only celebrities who have names. If there’s the intention to help and they have genuine intentions, there are people to help.”

“There are so many wrong things with our country, but there are so many things much more better that we should see, and this is one of them,” Gordon said.
