Cena out due to shoulder injury, to miss WrestleMania
Just two weeks since returning to action, John Cena is expected to miss considerable time, including WrestleMania 32 on April, as he will undergo a shoulder surgery to repair a still undisclosed injury.
In his Twitter account Wednesday (Thursday Manila time), the 15-time world champion wrote, “Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life’s full of set backs but #nevergiveup”
Article continues after this advertisementCena made his comeback to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) after a two-month hiatus, where he filmed the reality show American Grit.
He challenged Alberto del Rio for the United States Championship in the last Raw of 2015 two weeks ago, but was unsuccessful after an interference from Del Rio’s League of Nations stablemates resulted to a disqualification finish.
The Cena injury is just the latest addition to the growing list of WWE talent who are expected to miss the big event due to injuries. Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, and Cesaro are all out, leaving the WWE with a thin roster to work with at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
