WVL gets going Sunday

More than 50 teams vie for top honors in four categories when the 20th Women’s Volleyball League fires off tomorrow at Xavier School gym.

Organized by the Best Center and sponsored by Milo, the WVL is among the country’s longest-running junior volleyball leagues.

Best Center founder and president Nic Jorge said Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) president Joey Romasanta will be the opening rite’s main guest.

St. Paul College-Makati will defend its crown in the 13-under Developmental Division while Colegio San Agustin-Makati will be back to defend its 13-under Competitive Division title.

Also returning are De La Salle College-Antipolo, which will try to keep its 17-under Developmental Division title and Hope Christian School, which will defend the 17 under Competitive Division crown.
