Can Superal make it 6 at PH Ladies?

PRINCESS Superal hopes to bring her winning act to the Philippine Ladies Open Golf Championship and end Thailand’s domination when the tournament presented by Champion Infinity fires off on Jan. 20 at Tagaytay Midlands course.

Superal, the former US Girls’ Open champion, will head to the 54-hole championship fresh off a string of five international victories, including the Hong Kong Ladies Amateur Open last week which she won by four shots over local ace Mimi Ho.

She heads a powerhouse cast of local entries that include Pauline del Rosario and their The Country Club teammates.

“Midlands is a tough course, so we have to prepare hard and hopefully end Thailand’s domination,” said Superal.

She finished seventh in last year’s tournament at Wack Wack won by Pimnipa Panthong over fellow Thai Kanyalak Preedasutthijit.

Another Thai, Supamas Sangchan, scored back-to-back victories at Mt. Malarayat and Forest Hills from 2013.

Top players from Malaysia and Australia are also seeing action in this year’s event.
