PERPETUAL Help and College of St. Benilde aim to stay in the title hunt when they collide today at the start of the stepladder semifinals in the 91st NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Altas, who finished the eliminations in third spot with a 7-2 card, and the Lady Blazers (6-3) take the floor at 4 p.m.
The heavy playdate will also see Emilio Aguinaldo College and Perpetual Help dispute the top seeding in the men’s division.
Like the Generals, the Altas also finished the eliminations with an 8-1 mark. The top seed battles the winner of the San Beda-Arellano match in the semifinals.
The No. 2 seed will play No. 3 St. Benilde (7-2) in the other semifinal pairing.
Waiting for the survivor of the Lady Altas-Lady Blazers tussle is second seed Arellano.
San Sebastian already secured a thrice-to-beat edge in the finals after posting a 9-0 mark.
In other matches, Perpetual Help and EAC dispute the No. 1 seed in juniors play while SSC and Lyceum clash for the last semifinal berth.
