After BJ Penn posted a cryptic “we coming!” on Instagram raising speculations on his return to the UFC, he upped the notch on Wednesday (US time) when he once more took to the photo-sharing application to challenge someone in a fight.

Penn chose UFC 197 as his return fight and challenged lightweight Nik Lentz in a bout.

“This is a formal challenge for Nik Lentz to meet me in the [O]ctagon March 5th in Las Vegas,” Penn said on the post.

“Nik, you wrote a silly poem about me making fun of me, you said stuff about me and my parents … I ask you today to be a man and back up everything you said, talk the talk [and] walk the walk, uncle BJ is mad already.”

Penn (16-10-2) walked away from the sports in 2012 then came back in 2014 where he was subjected to a Frankie Edgar beating which ended in a third round technical knockout defeat.

His fight against Edgar proved to be his swan song, until Thursday (Philippine time).

Lentz earlier wrote a heated poem directed at Penn, which was titled “A little poem for a little man” and began with the line “Hey Beej.”

It was a poem that directly attacked not only Penn’s game in the Octagon. Furthermore, Lentz said that the former lightweight champion blamed his friends for his loss and his use of marijuana. RAM
