Cavaliers take on PNP 5, eye second semis berth

ARMED Forces of the Philippines tries to secure the second and last outright semifinal berth when it battles Philippine National Police tomorrow in the 4th UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Game time is set at 4:30 p.m. with the AFP Cavaliers out to rebound from a 76-96 loss to the National Housing Authority Builders last week.

Unlike the Cavaliers, the PNP Responders are coming off a morale-boosting 68-66 win over Judiciary, thanks to the 27-point performance of former University of the East guard Ollan Omiping.

The Builders clash with the Bureau of Fire Protection Firefighters at 3 p.m. with the former hoping to ride the momentum of their massive win over the Cavaliers to advance to the quarterfinals.

Expected to lead NHA is Tony Lustestica who erupted for 29 points in the team’s lopsided win over AFP.

Former Letran star Boyet Bautista and Eugene Tan will spearhead AFP’s assault.
