Considered as one of the most popular volleyball players in the Philippines, Gretchen Ho has said she is not keen on playing indoor volleyball again.
“Sa indoor, hindi na (not anymore.) You reach a point in your life when you feel that you are already done. Okay na ako,” said Ho during the Inquirer’s volleyball forum on Monday.
The former vital cog of the Ateneo Lady Eagles is now a broadcaster for the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), where she hosts a morning show and her own sports and entertainment newscast.
“I want a change in lifestyle. I want to open my mind to other things,” she added.
Ho, who was last seen playing competitive volleyball for the Petron Lady Blazers in the Philippine SuperLiga, said she is now shifting to beach volleyball.

“I am shifting my efforts to beach volleyball; nagpapahasa lang ako (I am just making myself better),” she said, adding that she is part of the team behind the Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR), which will bring the sport to different parts of the country.
Ho, however, said that she is not completely leaving behind the sport that made her popular.
“Pinupush ko siya nasaan man ako. Ganun ako ka-grateful, (I promote it wherever I am. That is how I show my gratitude),” she said.
