Ex-MLB players boost PH’s bid in World Baseball Classic q’fiers

The Philippines is set to compete in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier with high hopes brought about by the presence of Filipino-foreign Major League players.

Former New York Yankee pitcher Clay Rapada will spearhead the team along with Miami Dolphins catcher Brad Haynal and Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Angelo Songco.

The team, which flew to Sydney, Australia Friday, will also have as its manager Tim Hulett, current manager of Texas Rangers Single A affiliate Spokane Indians.
