Orcollo battles Souquet as pool ‘faceoff’ opens

MANILA, Philippines—Filipino Dennis “Robocop” Orcollo and German Ralf “Kaiser” Souquet rekindle their rivalry as the two pool masters collide as the Philippines Bigtime Billiards (PBB) Face Off Series gets underway on Nov. 5 at the Pagcor Airport Casino in Parañaque City.

“It’s nice to be playing again against Ralf,” said the World No. 1 and world 8-ball champion Orcollo, who lost to Souquet in the finals of World Pool Masters last month at the SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

The series, a race-to-9 10-ball contest, is presented by Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corporation, and supported by Pagcor and San Miguel Beer, among others.

“I feel honored to be invited to play against the best billiards player in the world and I promise to play my best,” said Souquet, former World 8-ball and 9-ball champion.

“It’s a very interesting match,” said Bugsy Promotions head Perry Mariano.

“Dennis and Ralf are the hottest players today,” added BRKHRD Corporation representative Reli de Leon.

The Orcollo-Souquet match is part of a series of challenge matches Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corporation are putting up.

Other Filipino cue masters invited to play are Efren “Bata” Reyes, Ronnie Alcano, Roberto Gomez, Lee Vann Corteza, Nickoy Lining, Renemar David, Leonardo Andam and Carlo Biado.

The foreign flavor will bew whipped up by Mika Immonen, Thorsten Hohmann, Johnny Archer, Shane Van Boening, Charlie Williams, Daryl Peach and Darren Appleton.
