UAAP: All-around Baron leading Lady Spikers’ charge

And through two games, the lengthy middle hitter has steadily emerged as one of the Lady Spikers’ key players on both ends.

Baron showed her value on the defensive end as she teamed up with graduating star Mika Reyes in a straight-sets win over Far Eastern University last Wednesday and three days later, she chalked up her best offensive game to lead La Salle’s to its second victory.
“I felt that since this is my [third playing] year, I have to step up and I’ve been really working hard during training and I think all of my hard work is paying off,” Baron said.

Baron set a career-high 17 points, scoring 12 off hits and four off blocks, while also being accounted for the game-clinching point in a 25-14, 25-13, 19-25, 25-20 win over University of the Philippines.
“I just want to focus every game and give my best,” she said.
So far, Baron’s best has helped La Salle to a 2-0 record and the early lead in the standings.
