MEMPHIS — Chandler Parsons scored 26 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in overtime, to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 114-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday (Sunday Manila time).
Dirk Nowitzki’s 21-foot jumper with 16.6 seconds left pushed the Dallas lead to 112-109, and the Mavericks held on to snap a three-game losing streak.
Deron Williams scored 22 points and Nowitzki finished with 18 markers.
Marc Gasol led Memphis with 22 points, while Zach Randolph had 20 points and 14 rebounds.
The teams were tied at 102 at the end of regulation. The Mavericks had the last shot with less than a second left, but failed to convert a lob at the rim to Justin Anderson.
In overtime, Parsons’ three-pointers countered any Memphis baskets inside by Gasol. Parsons’ second long-range conversion gave Dallas a 110-106 lead with 2:24 left in overtime.
Raymond Felton added 16 points, including 10 after halftime, and Dwight Powell finished with 10 points, hitting all three of his shots.
Matt Barnes had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Mike Conley finished with 16 points and seven assists for Memphis, which saw an end to its five-game winning streak.
Memphis tied the game with a 10-2 run down the stretch in regulation, the final points coming on a 3-pointer from Conley with 23.3 seconds left.
In overtime, Parsons’ 3-pointer and an 18-footer from Williams provided enough of a buffer to survive a Memphis run behind Gasol, as the Grizzlies pulled within 110-109 with 1:12 left.
The teams exchanged leads through much of the second half. Near the 8-minute mark of the fourth, Nowitzki’s 20-footer was followed by a 3-pointer from J.J. Barea, providing Dallas a 91-87 cushion.
Felton’s 3-pointer stretched the Dallas lead to 100-92 with 3:29 left.
Memphis went on a run of seven straight points, including a pair of inside baskets by Randolph to cut the advantage to 100-99 with 1:17 remaining before the game eventually went to overtime.
