Far Eastern University strong-armed University of the East 25-18, 25-11, 21-25, 25-14, to avoid what could have been a huge upset in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament Sunday at San Juan Arena.

The Lady Warriors came into the game having lost 46 straight games dating back to 2012 and the Lady Tamaraws extended their misery with Heather Guino-o ‘s service ace sealing the match.

Lady Tamaraws head coach Shaq Delos Santos didn’t like how his team performed in the third set where they could’ve ended the game in a sweep.

“Honestly speaking, I’m not okay with how we played in the third set because we really played well in the first two sets,” Delos Santos said in Filipino.

Delos Santos added he wanted his team to play the fourth set the way they played the first two, by being calm and in total control of the situation.

“We don’t want to be too eager because that has been our problem sometimes and we play worse when we play like that. We just want to be patient just like how we played the first two sets,” said Delos Santos, whose squad improved to 1-1.

Toni Basas and Guino-o had 15 points apiece while Mary Palma added 11 for the Lady Tamaraws, who lost to De La Salle in their opening game last Wednesday.

Shaya Adorador exploded for 23 points for the Lady Warriors but her outburst went for naught her team fell to 0-2.
