Five months into his retirement, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is all good and returning to boxing is something that the former pound-for-pound king doesn’t think of doing.
Talking to BoxingScene.com, Mayweather said he has no plans of going back to the sport that made him an icon and he is perfectly at peace with his retirement and catching up some fatherly time with his children.
“I don’t really miss it,” said Mayweather, who retired last September after a lopsided win over Andre Berto for a 49-0 record. “I’m happy that I’m not training, I’m happy just at home resting. Happy to be spending time with my children.”
Mayweather’s focus has been on his four children, three of which he’s preparing for college.
The five-division world champion added there’s nothing he wants to do in his retirement than make up for lost time and be with his kids.
“This time right now, my children’s lives are very very valuable. I have three children that are about to go to college and that’s very important,” Mayweather said. “I missed a lot of valuable time with my children because I gave boxing my whole life, but it’s never too late. I love my children.”
