Cojuangco, Garcia to grace PSA Awards
THE COUNTRY’S foremost sports personalities will grace the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Annual Awards Night presented by MILO and San Miguel Corp. on Saturday at One Esplanade in Pasay City.
Boxers Nonito Donaire Jr. and Donnie Nietes and golfer Miguel Tabuena will receive the Athlete of the Year awards in the presence of Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chair Richie Garcia in the two-hour program that starts at 7 p.m.
As the country’s top sports leaders, it’s only fitting that Cojuangco and Garcia will be leading the community in celebrating the achievements of Filipino athletes in 2015.
Article continues after this advertisementInternational Olympic Committee (IOC) representative to the Philippines Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, POC vice president Joey Romasanta, chair Tom Carrasco, PSC commissioners Jolly Gomez, Buddy Andrada, Akiko Thomson-Guevara, and Iggy Clavecilla are also expected to attend the program hosted by sportscasters Quinito Henson and Patricia Bermudez-Hizon.
PSC executive director lawyer Guillermo Iroy Jr., and top officials and representatives of the various National Sports Associations have also been invited to the ceremony.
A total of 111 personalities and sports organizations will be recognized in the gala that has PSC as major sponsor.
