It was a happy Valentine’s Day for National University as it swept listless University of the East, 25-12, 25-13, 25-16, Sunday at San Juan Arena for its third straight win in the UAAP Seson 78 women’s bolleyball Tournament.

Substitute Jocelyn Soliven gave the Lady Bulldogs the 24-16 match point with a service ace, her lone point of the match, then Myla Pablo sealed their victory and sent UE to its 48th straight loss.

Lady Bulldogs head coach Roger Gorayeb said his team’s confidence has risen up after their loss against Ateneo in the opener.

“Confidence level nila tumaas, pero syempre di mo pa masabi kung gaano katindi,” Gorayeb whose team notched a 3-1 record said. “Malalaman ko yan in the near future pag malakas na kalaban.”

Gorayeb added his team still has trouble matching up against more formidable teams in the league.

“Dati kasi pag alam nilang kaya nila yung kalaban magaan loob nila, magaan kilos. Pag alam nilang malakas lamang na sila [sa game] di pa nila nare realize na nandun na sila sa ganung level.”

Jaja Santiago led NU with 11 points while Pablo added nine.

Celine Domingo and Shaya Adorador each had five points to lead the Lady Warriors.
