Lady Bulldogs not taking winless Tigresses lightly

University of Santo Tomas is not having the best of starts in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament.

The Tigresses, the second winningest team in the women’s division with 15 trophies, is staring at a sorry 0-3 slate.

Despite UST’s current struggles, National University head coach Roger Gorayeb believes the Tigresses remain a threat.

Gorayeb and his Lady Bulldogs will face UST in their next match and he knows UST is still one proud team despite their record.

“Ang UST kasi may pride yang mga yan, talagang maglalaro yan,” Gorayeb said Sunday. “May pride yan kasi ang laking bagay nung pride sa isang player, sa isang team, madadala ka nyan at yung confidence level mo tumataas.”

National University sits with a 3-1 card, but Gorayeb knows that they shouldn’t take UST lightly.

“Kailangan gibain namin yun [pride] at pano, ito ay ang maglaro ng mahusay,” Gorayeb said.
