Laure takes charge after ‘ugly’ 0-3 start for Tigresses

Just how bad is University of Santo Tomas’ 0-3 start in the UAAP Season 78?
Golden Tigresses team captain EJ Laure described the dismal start as ugly. And they vowed to change it immediately.
Changing their tide with one massive sweep, the Golden Tigresses trumped hapless University of the East 25-18, 25-8, 25-13 Wednesday and Laure took charge.
“Pangit kasi tignan ng 0-3,” Laure said as she responded with a game-high 16 points. “Wala namang sinabing directly sakin si coach, pero kailangan mag step up sa susunod na games.”

“Sinasabi ko sa sarili ko na hindi pwedeng parang fourth game na namin tapos off night na naman ako, so nag focus na maganda laro ko at manalo rin kami.”
Laure was just averaging 12 points a game in the first three and her output in Wednesday’s game was a vast improvement for the sophomore.
Still a ratio of one win and three losses is not something Laure wants to dwell on, as UST’s next opponent is the the tough National University, which totes a 3-1 record.
“Sinasabi lang ni coach na mag celebrate kami ngayon tapos bukas training uli,” Laure said.
