Eight-year-old Jana Macalalad wasn’t into swimming —until she tested the waters.
Jana, a second grade student at Colegio San Agustin in Binan, Laguna, knew she has something to prove being the youngest of five.
In just her first crack at a swimming competition, Jana placed second in the The Gabriel Symphony aquathlon event, 7-8 age category for girls.
Determined not only to excel in swimming but also in other sports, Jana, along with her 14-year-old brother Jared, also take part in running events. Jana finished third in the elementary girls division in a invitational run organized by Brent International School.
