STALLION slipped past JP Voltes, 2-1, Saturday night to regain top spot in Group A while Loyola Meralco scored its second straight win in the United Football League at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Goals from newcomer Jim Ashley Flores and Sam Bonney boosted Stallion to three points against a gritty Voltes side that fought bravely even after going down to 10 men in the second half.
It was the third straight win for Stallion, which seized the group lead with nine points.
The Sparks, still missing key players Phil Younghusband and Simon Greatwich, turned back Green Archers, 4-2, to climb to second in Group B behind Ceres-La Salle.
Jinggoy Valmayor, James Younghusband, Tahj Minniecon and Jake Morallo were on target for the Sparks who raised their tally to six points after losing their first match to Ceres.
Archers and Sparks both have six points but the latter dropped to third due to an inferior goal difference.
