Cray scoops 60m bronze at Asian Indoor meet

ERIC CRAY zoomed to a podium finish in the 60-meter dash on Saturday at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Qatar.

The Philippines’ lone athletics qualifier for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics clocked 6.70 seconds to place third to two Iranian sprinters.

Hassan Hossien Taftian set a new meet record of 6.56 seconds to take the gold, ahead of compatriot Reza Ali Ghasemis (6.66). Cray, who is running in the 400m in the Olympics, clocked 6.57 in the semifinals.
