It will be Triple H against Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the biggest stage of them all.
Reigns overcame Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose in their triple threat number one contender’s match at WWE Fastlane on Sunday(Monday Manila time) in Cleveland.
The Samoan powerhouse nailed his brethren with a spear to book his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 32 in Dallas on April.
It was an action-packed main event which saw Lesnar take control early with a flurry of suplexes. But Reigns and Ambrose soon teamed up, nailing the former UFC champ with powerbombs on two announce tables and tried to bury the “Beast Incarnate” under the rubble.
The former members of The Shield then went toe-to-toe against each other, but not before Lesnar re-emerged and put Reigns on a Kimura lock.
Ambrose then wielded a steel chair on Lesnar to stop the submission, eliminating him once again from the equation. Unfortunately for Ambrose, Reigns got up at the right time and hit him with the spear for the win.
The defending champ Triple H then emerged from the back and engaged Reigns on a stare down as the show went to a close.
It was a rather disappointing finish for the fans in Cleveland, which booed loudly to end the night with the predictability of Reigns’ victory.
In the night’s other matches, Kevin Owens successfully defended his newly won Intercontinental title against Dolph Ziggler, AJ Styles won his first WWE PPV match over Chris Jericho, Charlotte retained her Divas Championship against Brie Bella, and Kalisto trumped Alberto del Rio in their 2-out-of-3 falls match for the United States title in the pre-show.
