Gilas Pilipinas pool gathered for the second time this year as it resumed its Mondays-only practice at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Ateneo.

The national team continued its preparations for the Olympic qualifying tournament slated on July 4 where one of three tickets to the Rio Olympics is at stake. Ranidel de Ocampo made his first appearance for Gilas since his back injury last October. Joining the veteran TNT forward are Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Marcio Lassiter, Greg Slaughter, Moala Tautuaa, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Japeth Aguilar, Troy Rosario, Gabe Norwood and Gilas cadets Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Ferrer. June Mar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, Paul Lee and Jeff Chan attended practice but did not participate. Terrence Romeo also missed the session. The Philippines aims to make its first trip to the Summer Games since 1972 in Munich. Gilas’ road to Rio begins against powerhouse France, which will be led by four-time NBA champion Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs. All photos by Tristan Tamayo of INQUIRER.net.
