Drawing big games from its guards, Caida Tiles whipped University of the Philippines-QRS/Jam Liner, 118-86, to claim a share of the lead in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Arena.

“In the second half, everybody pushed, everybody ran our offense,” said Caida coach Caloy Garcia. “I just told them that if we want to win games, we just have to keep on running.”

The Tile Masters joined idle Cafe France at 5-1 and also secured a top four spot, which comes with a twice-to-beat bonus in the quarterfinals.

Philip Paniamogan scattered 19 points to power the Tile Masters, who outscored the Maroons, 38-15, in the final quarter. Jonathan Grey added 18 and Jiovanni Jalalon added 16.

Earlier, AMA University tripped Mindanao in overtime, 91-85, to rise to sixth place at 2-4.
