Adamson snapped its four-game losing skid with a gutsy five-set thriller over FEU, 21-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-10, in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

Down two sets to none, the Lady Falcons kept their hopes alive with a strong third set and leaned on May Roque and Jema Galanza in a close fourth set.

Adamson raced to an 10-2 lead in the fifth set, before a bevy of errors got the Lady Tamaraws back to just four, 14-10.

But Mylene Paat punctuated the win with a strong hit, as the ball sailed out of bounds after a Gyzelle Sy failed to recieve.

“Yun ang nagiging problema namin dahil hindi maganda yung start. Napagusapan lang namin na pag naglaro kami ng tama, makakabawi at makakabawi din kami,” said coach Sherwin Meneses.

Roque starred in the victory with 23 points, 19 of which from hits and three service aces, while Galanza got 14 of her 16 markers from kills.

Paat also had three blocks to help her rack her 12 points, as the Lady Falcons improved to 2-4.

“Importante yung pagkapanalo namin kasi magkakadikit-dikit na ulit yung standings,” said Meneses.

Bernadeth Pons paced FEU with 25 points, 19 from spikes, while Toni Basas had 20.

Not helping the Lady Tamaraws in this match were their 41 errors, as they fell to a 3-3 record.
