Thrust to the spotlight after a limited rookie season, May Roque has emerged as a pillar for Adamson this UAAP Season 78.
The 18-year-old outside hitter proved her worth for coach Sherwin Meneses, igniting a fightback to remember as the Lady Falcons stunned FEU in five sets on Wednesday.
“Kailangan talaga naming manalo kaya di kami bumitaw,” she said. “Down na kami ng two sets, kailangan may isang mag-boost para matangay talaga lahat.”
Though admitting she still feels uneasy as a main contributor for Adamson, she has slowly accustomed to the new role as evidenced by her 23-point outburst, 19 of which from kills, in the big win.
And the victory came at the right time as Adamson bagged its second win in six games, a huge morale booster in the final two games of the first round, starting on Saturday against UE.
