Best of PH motorports in 2015 feted tonight

THE BEST and brightest in Philippine motorsports last year will be feted today during the 2016 Golden Wheel Awards Night at Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig City.

Slalom champion Milo Rivera seeks back-to-back Driver of the Year awards against a host of equally formidable nominees in drag racing champion Martin Manalo, karting king Gabriel Tayao Cabrera, superbikes winner Raniel Resuello and Asian Karting juniors titlist Jacob Ang during the annual gala event.

Reigning supreme in their respective diciplines, Aljon Valencia (Scooter), John Emerson Inguito (Underbone), Glenn Aguilar (Motocross), Gio Rodriguez (Drifting), Michael Cerin (4×4 Offroad), Rodney Caballero (Classic Cars), Richmon dela Rosa (Grand Touring) and Michael Jordan (Asian Karting Seniors) are also nominated for the top individual plum.

Rivera could become the third driver to win back-to-back Driver of the Year awards after motocross star Glenn Aguilar and karter Michele Bumgarner.

Automobile Association Phil-ippines (AAP) president Augusto “Gus” Lagman will keynote the rite with Golden Wheel Foundation Inc. chair Johnny Tan handing out the trophies to the 14 champion nominees
