Ageless Aguilar surprises young guns in Diamond Motocross

Multi-titled Glenn Aguilar continued to defy Father Time as he reigned supreme in the centerpiece pro open Saturday at the start of the 2016 Diamond Motocross Series Mx Messiah Fairgrounds at Taytay, Rizal.

The huge crowd erupted in delight as the 40 year-old Aguilar showed the young guns his worth by ruling the Moto 1 and Moto 2 to emerge the frontrunner in the five-leg series organized by Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co.

Spicing up the  day-long non-stop action was a  stunt made by Generation Congregation Director Samuel Mark Tamayo, who used his dirt bike to jump over a Montero Sport.

Rising motocross star Jepoy Rellosa snatched the spotlight in the Prolites category, while John Antonio topped the Amateur Open. Jolet Jao ruled the Veterans Open, Roman Laurente was first in the Executive Open and Janelle Saulog in the Ladies category.

Wenson Reyes topped the Kids 50cc and 65cc, Bienvinido Torres Jr. ruled the Open Local Underbone, Christopher Oberio captured the Open Local Enduro, Jano Mercado pocketed the  MMF Academy while Vincent Jimenez topped the Newbie Open Production.

Other sponsors that made the event more alive were Wheeltek, Dunlop tires, Coffee Grounds, Xtreme, PTT Philippines Corporation, Monster Energy and the Municipality of Taytay as well as bands such as Firefalldown with vocalist Jon Blaylock of Diamond Motors , Reborn, Maryzark, and Light of Luna.

Organizers expect another overflowing turnout as the second leg unfurls on March 12, followed by the third leg on April 2. The fourth leg will be held on April 23 while the fifth and concluding leg will be on May 21.
