PBA D-LEAGUE: PC Gilmore dumps RnW, 75-59

MANILA, Philippines – PC Gilmore lit up from the downtown just in the nick of time to waylay slumping RnW, 75-59, Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation cup at the Letran Gym in Intramuros.

The Wizards uncorked five straight triples in the last four minutes to pull away away from the Pacific pipes, which managed to keep the contest close in the first three quarters.

“We were too tight in the first half and we were missing every shot,” said the youthful PC Gilmore mentor Richard Del Rosario. “Finally, our shooters were able to ajdust.”

Jay Agas topscored for the Wizards, who are now in a good position for a 1-2 finish in group A.

Streak shooting Jet Vidal added 13 points in the victory while Macky Acosta and Allan Mangahas finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

From a 45-all draw in the third period, PC Gilmore blizted to a 10-nothing run within mere two minutes before the decisive fourth quarter breakout.

Vic Manuel had another solid showing with 20 points but on a losing cause for Pacific Pipes.
