Miesha Tate finally earned her first UFC gold after choking out Holly Holm in the fifth and final round at UFC 196 for the women’s bantamweight title.

A more all-around fighter compared to the erstwhile-champion, Tate put Holm on a rear naked choke until the former title-holder passed out.

Tate, who lost to Ronda Rousey in UFC 168, ha to wait for more than two years to get another title shot and it came against Holm who beat her rival for the title.

A humble victor, Tate praised Holm for sticking through the fight and not tapping out.

“A lot of people would’ve tapped out,” Tate said, as per MMAFighting.com. “She went out like a champion. I have so much respect for this woman.”
