THE Mindanao Aguilas gun for the last quarterfinal berth of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup against Phoenix-Far Eastern University at 2 p.m. today at Filoil Flying V Arena.
“We always have to give our best,” said Phoenix coach Eric Gonzales, who may miss Roger Pogoy and Raymar Jose due to injuries. “Even if we’re not complete, we should play to win.”
The Accelerators, running third at 5-2, are assured of the twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
Caida Tiles, also assured of a quarterfinal bonus, seeks a seventh win versus BDO-National U at 4 p.m.
Joining the Accelerators and the Tile Masters in the top four are Cafe France (7-1) and University of the Philippines-QRS/Jam Liner (5-3).
Other quarterfinalists are Tanduay Rhum (5-3), BDO-NU (2-5) and AMA University Online (2-6), leaving Mindanao (1-6) and Wangs (1-7) to dispute the last spot.
A Mindanao win will eliminate Wangs while a loss will favor the Couriers due to the winner-over-the-other tiebreak rule.
